Youth/Family Groups

Adventures for Youth and Family Groups are a great way to provide entertainment and engaging educational activities for parents and children who visit our State Parks in the Russian River area.

oborlogoStewards is promoting the Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights, a program that addresses recent concerns about youth detachment from outdoor activities, lack of physical exercise and increased health risks. A Naturalist will assist families in achieving the following goals while they visit our State Parks. Children that complete all activities will receive an acknowledgement certificate.

Every Child Should Have the Opportunity to:

1. Discover California's Past
2. Splash in the water
3. Play in a safe place
4. Camp under the stars
5. Explore nature
6. Learn to swim
7. Play on a team
8. Follow a trail
9. Catch a fish
10. Celebrate their heritage

Besides the Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights activities, there are many options for enjoying and learning about the natural and cultural resources in our parks. Contact us for to discuss an experience that will meet the needs of your family or group.

Fees are charged for coordinating and planning the perfect adventure for your group. A fee schedule will be provided once we hear from you through our online reservation system. Fees are dependent on the level of service and amenities you are interested in. Proceeds from this program help fund FREE environmental education programs for school groups.

Adventure Amenities might include: Pocket field guides, stainless steel water bottles and eco-friendly tote bags. We will also arrange picnics or lunch at local restaurants for your group upon request for an extra charge.

Stewardship activities are also offered for those who would like to engage in an environmental project to protect and preserve our State Parks. Activities include: beach cleanups, invasive plant removal, fence removal etc.

EcoAdventures are also offered: kayaking, birding, tidepooling for youth groups and families with older children.

Reservations at least 2 weeks in advance are recommended. To do so, simply register online by filling out our Online Reservation Form for Youth/Family Groups.
