Keeping our Parks Open

MicheleWe need your help to keep our local State Parks open! We are waiting to hear just how much it will take to keep each park unit open.

I can tell you that raising money for water, sewer, vehicles, electricity and trash service is required. While we greatly appreciate all the emails and offers of volunteer support, it will take monetary contributions from Stewards and our supporters to keep our parks open. We will need to organize volunteers to help as well. We are keeping your names on file for when that time comes.

There are many ways that you can support Stewards and help us raise the needed funds to keep our parks open.

  • Come to the Bodega Seafood, Art and Wine Festival on August 29 & 30, 2009. Stewards benefits from the festival.
  • Purchase your tickets for the three-day Old Grove Festival on September 25-27, 2009. This is a key fundraiser for Stewards.
  • Donate to the Keep our Parks Open Fund and Stewards will ensure that your dollars help keep our parks open.
  • Donate when you park for free and walk-in to Armstrong Redwoods. Look for our new secure donation box near the park entrance station - coming soon.
  • Sign the State Park Foundation's online petition and let legislators know that we want our parks to stay open!

Please contact me if you know of an individual or busniess that would like to sponsor our local parks with a monetary donation. mluna@mcn.org.

With all of us doing our part we will succeed. Thanks so much for your support!
