Willow Creek Watershed Public Meeting

« Other News

Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods (Stewards) and California State Parks invite public participation in a scoping meeting on Tuesday, October 14, at 7pm at the Jenner Community Club to review plans for a new bridge in the lower Willow Creek watershed. The project will result in reestablishment of fish passage in an area that currently impedes natural channel processes and impairs the biological productivity of salmonids in the watershed. The project is funded by the California State Coastal Conservancy.

The project designers, Prunuske Chatham, Inc., will present the preferred bridge alternative based on hydrology, hydraulics, and fish passage requirements. Stewards will then lead a discussion of public concerns and ideas that will be addressed during the project’s review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which will occur this November. Construction will take place after funding is secured during the next year or so.
