Summer is almost here and Guerneville is the place to be! To entice you to get out and enjoy the beauty of West Sonoma County, Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods is excited to host a series of summer pop-up events at our Forest to the Sea Nature Store (located in the Plaza Building, 16215 Main St #1, Guerneville, CA 95446).
Join us on Saturday, June 16, for a fun book talk/signing with local author & naturalist Laura Morgan! Laura will discuss her book Three Jewels: A Field Guide to Three West Sonoma County Trail Systems, and will break for a Q&A session and book signing.
Admission is FREE. Copies of Laura's book will be available to purchase.
About Laura Morgan:
After 30 years of practicing family medicine, Laura Morgan is donating back to the land that kept her grounded during her career. She has been running these trails since the early 1970s, at all times of the year in all conditions, and has experienced many adventures that nature brings to a willing explorer.
About Three Jewels:
"Three Jewels covers three important trail systems in West Sonoma County. Along with practical advice and maps, it is filled with fascinating profiles—from geology to history so salmonid ecology—of this remarkable region and its inhabitants. The writing is accessible for teachers and students, parents and children, as well as hard-core adventurers." — Michele Luna, Executive Director of Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods
Three Jewels is a combination of natural history and field guide for hikers of varying interests and abilities. More than a guidebook, it's a good read. It offers both readers and hikers insight into the current and evolving relationships between the land, climate, plants and animals of wild West Sonoma County.
